CBAM puts the filing duty on one side and the data duty on the other. The two tracks are separate because the work is genuinely different — not because one is a shorter version of the other.
EU Importers
- What you face
- You are the declarant. The reporting duty and the certificate cost sit with you, not with your supplier.
- What you must produce
- A periodic report, and a declaration backed by surrendered certificates once the definitive regime runs.
- What the track covers
- Scope at commodity-code level, default values against supplier-actual data, certificates, and the report itself.
CN Manufacturers
- What you face
- Your European buyer cannot file without your numbers. If you cannot supply them, they fall back on default values — which usually cost them more, and that cost finds its way back to you.
- What you must produce
- Embedded-emissions data per good, traceable to your installation and defensible when a verifier asks.
- What the track covers
- Reading the inquiry your buyer sends, deciding what a carbon document can actually prove, and the first-week map for responding.

What is CBAM.School?

Who is it for?
Two audiences on opposite sides of the border. EU importers who carry the reporting duty and the certificate cost, and non-EU manufacturers who have to supply verified embedded-emissions data to their European buyers. The obligations are different, so the tracks are separate.

What does enrolment include?

Is the certificate officially recognised?
It is CBAM.School's own practitioner certificate, earned through two exams and an expert-reviewed capstone. No official government or EU CBAM credential exists to be accredited against — if anyone tells you theirs is EU-accredited, check who accredited it.
